Merrickville-Wolford – The Jewel of the Rideau
Where we are
Situated on the Rideau River in Eastern Ontario, Merrickville-Wolford is 55 km southwest of Ottawa. It is a destination that is easy to reach and hard to leave!
A rich history
Founded by millwright William Mirick in the late 18th century, the village became a key lock point on the historic Rideau Canal.
Heritage and architecture
With over 100 designated heritage buildings, Merrickville is one of the best preserved 19th century villages in the province of Ontario.

The Rideau Canal, riverside trails, boutique shops and cozy cafés draw visitors from across Canada and beyond year-round.
